Madhu Jain's exhibition opens in San Francisco


San Francisco:
The first solo exhibition by experienced and versatile artist Madhu Jain, showcasing 40 eco-friendly paintings using the Japanese style rock pigment painting `Nihonga' to depict Indian motifs, are on display here.

The event selected by the National Association of Japan America Societies as an official event of the 150th of Japan-US relations this year, brings to life the beauty and vivacity of Rajasthan and its folk art state through the fine Japanese art, which is believed to have its roots in ancient India.

...The exhibition entitled ..." Rajasthan a Kaleidoscope" ..captures the spirit of the rugged desert with the brilliance of mineral pigments. ...Well regarded in Japan, Jain has had several solo exhibitions both in India and abroad and is a recipient of national and international awards.... Her paintings have also been auctioned both in India and abroad to raise money for trauma situations .
